  1. In a large pot, bring about 6 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Add the goat meat and cook for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until tender. Skim off any foam that rises to the surface.
  3. Once the meat is tender, add the yam or grinded yam to the pot. This will serve as a thickening agent for the soup. Cook for about 10-15 minutes until the yam is soft and dissolved into the broth.
  4. Stir in the crayfish, ogiri, peppersoup spice, and dried smoked fish. Allow the soup to simmer for another 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  5. Add the chopped utazi leaves to the pot and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Season the soup with maggi cubes and salt to taste.
  7. Adjust the consistency of the soup by adding more water if necessary.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite side dish, such as fufu or pounded yam.
